Another quick and fun green bean recipe to add to the books. This dish is perfect as an appetizer or entree for the holidays.

Ingredients
3 tbsp butter
1 ½ cups coarse sourdough breadcrumbs, fresh or store bought
½ cup sliced almonds
2 tsp of thyme
2 cloves garlic
¼ cup chives
1 lb green beans
2 tbsp butter
Directions
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
Add breadcrumbs and almonds and cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and continue to cook 2 more minutes or until bread is golden and almonds are toasted and fragrant.
Remove from heat; stir in chives and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toss 1 1/2 pounds of warm steamed green beans in 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil; season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer to a platter and sprinkle generously with breadcrumbs.
