Yields: 6 servings
Prep time: 20 min
Cook time: 15-20 min
For the Dough:
½ cup warm milk
1 ¼ tsp instant dry yeast
1 large eggs, room temperature
2 tbs butter, melted
2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
½ tsp salt
¼ cup sugar
For the Filling:
¼ cup butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup of walnuts & pecans, chopped
1 tbs cinnamon
¼ cup heavy cream
For the Frosting:
3 oz cream cheese
2 tbs butter
1 cup powdered sugar
¼ tbs vanilla
Preheat the oven to 375.
Pour the warm milk in a standing mixer & sprinkle yeast on top. Add eggs, butter, salt & sugar.
Add flour & mix until ingredients are combined. Let rest for 5 minutes.
Scape dough off the sides of the bowl, and attach the dough hook. Beat dough for about 5 minutes or until dough is smooth.
Spray a bowl with cooking spray, place dough inside and cover with a towel. Let rest for about 30 min or until dough doubles in size.
In a medium bowl, combine filling ingredients & mix well.
On a clear surface, flour generously, and add dough on top. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
Add filling & spread evenly over rolled out dough.
Roll up the dough longwise and cut off ends, allowing 1-2 inches between each cut. These will become your cinnamon rolls.
Place pieces onto a greased baking sheet & let rise for another 15 min. Pour heavy cream on top and let it soak up into the dough.
Place in the oven for about 15-20 min, checking for that golden brown color.
Prepare the frosting by using a hand mixer and blending all ingredients together. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Mix well. Spread evenly over warm cinnamon buns.
Add any other toppings as desired.
Enjoy!
