We decided to center this appetizer around a fun & not often incorporated fall fruit. Persimmons are known for their color & when spice is added it creates a flavorful starter to begin the night.
Yields: 12-15 pieces
Prep time: 15 - 20 min
Cook Time: ~ 15 min
1 baguette or an artisan loaf, sliced
8 oz wheel of brie
2-3 medium ripe persimmons, peeled & sliced thin
Brown sugar to taste
Cinnamon to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Put bread slices on a baking sheet.
Lightly oil the bread slices with a brush.
Toast until lightly golden colored, around 5-9 min.
Put a slice of brie, slice of persimmon & a dash of sugar & cinnamon on each slice.
Bake until sugar melts and cheese begins to liquify, about 2-5 min.
Take out of the oven, let cool a little and then it is ready to serve.
